Privacy policy
How BUUKUS collects, uses and protects personal data.
Last updated 27 October 2026
Who we are
BUUKUS (“we”) provides BUUKUS PMS, a hospitality management system, and the buukus.com marketplace where guests find and book stays. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights. For the data properties keep about their own guests and staff, see our Security & data protection policy: the property is the controller and BUUKUS the processor.
What we collect
- Travellers and guests: name, email, phone, booking details, preferences and payment confirmation (we never see full card numbers).
- Property staff and owners: name, work email, phone, role, sign-in activity and the actions they perform in PMS.
- Visitors: device and usage information, approximate location (to show prices in a suitable currency) and cookies — see our Cookie policy.
- Enquiries: what you tell us when you contact us or request a demo.
Why we use it
To create and manage bookings and accounts, take payments and pay out properties, send confirmations and service messages, secure the platform and prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, and improve the product. Marketing messages are sent only where you have agreed or the law allows, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
The property you book with (so it can host you), payment gateways, email and hosting providers acting for us, professional advisers and authorities where the law requires. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Only as long as needed for the purposes above and legal record-keeping. Property workspaces are kept while the subscription is active and for a retention period after deletion is requested.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, object to or restrict some processing, and withdraw consent. Contact support@buukus.com. You may also complain to your data-protection authority.
International transfers
Data may be processed in countries other than your own by our service providers, with appropriate safeguards.
Changes
We will update this page and, for material changes, notify you.
