How hotels keep working when the internet drops
BUUKUS · 25 October 2026

For many properties, a dropped connection means guests waiting at the desk. An offline-first PMS is built so that does not happen.
What “offline-first” means
The system keeps what the front desk needs on the device. When the connection goes, bookings, check-ins, charges and payments are saved locally and queued.
Syncing safely
When the connection returns, queued actions are sent in order. Each carries a unique key, so a flaky link can never post the same payment twice. If something conflicts — for example a room sold in the meantime — it is flagged for staff instead of being silently overwritten.
What to look for
- Bookings, check-in/out and folio postings work offline
- A visible indicator of what is waiting to sync
- Safe replay with no double-posting
- The same behaviour on web and desktop
BUUKUS PMS does all of this. See how it works.
